First off, was Spouses day at John's old squadron. Since the squardon is closing down all present and former spouses were invited. The only bummer is that I couldn't fly. I tried but to no avail. Apparently they don't make a habit of flying 8 1/2 month pregnant women around. Since there were so many current and former Pavelow guys and their souses the squadron did a 5 "ship" flyover(for those non-military ship=helicopter in this instance). It was awesome! I decided to include a picture. We started birthing classes last week. We had class Monday night and Wednesday night. We have two more classes this Monoday and Wednesday. The classes are very informative. They do show videos of births, no blury spots like on tv either! John watched the floor, ceiling and table during most of the videos! :o) Monday we will be touring the Labor and Delivery floor of the hospital to get an idea of where to go and how things will work. I am looking forward to this since I have no experience in this department! In one of the handouts we received at the class it said to shine a flashlight on my tummy when the baby is awake and see how the baby reacts. John tried this the other night and several nights since. Baby gets really active and hits/kicks alot. Many times the baby hits/kicks right where the flashlight is shining. It is neat! John also talks to the baby and reads to the baby at night. Baby really seems to like it. He/She gets really active when John talks to him/her.
We also went to the epidural class this past week. It was very informative. it eased some of my fears of having an epidural. The anesthesiologist explained the whole process, how it works, and what to expect when the put it in. I was glad we went.
I am looking forward to mom coming on July 13th. It will be so good to have her here. I am looking forward to spending time with her and to making her a Maw-Maw. Nana, John's mom, will be coming a couple weeks after the baby is born so I will have wonderful help for a month after the baby is born between the two of them. Paw-Paw, my dad will be coming a week after the baby is born with Uncle Grumpy, aka my brother Andrew, aka the baby's Godfather. They will be staying a week then mom will drive back to Texas with them. John and I are going to talk to the church this week to see if we can have the baby baptized two weeks after the baby is born so that our families don't have to make another trip back with the cost of gas and airfare it would be VERY expensive. We are hoping that John's mom will be here also so that the grandparents will overlap a weekend to celebrate the Baptism with us. I will keep everyone posted on that so that if you are in the area and would like to celebrate with us you can be there.
Now that I have talked your ear off, it is your turn to leave comments. I am wondering what you think...boy or girl?? Also, if you have any advice for John and I as baby's arrival gets closer please feel free to add that as well. To leave a comment just click on the comment link below this post. We look forward to hearing from all of you!!
