Happy New Year

It has been an interesting new year. I think Cecelia has been sick enough for 2010! We started out the year with her recovering from a yucky cold that se had over Christmas. Now she has hand, foot, and mouth, which is a virus in the parvo family. I asked the Dr. how she could have gotten it and he said she could have gotten it anywhere and that it is going around right now. Sadly, I have gotten it too. It is miserable. Neither one of us has been able to eat a whole lot becuase it hurts too much. Thankfully, it seems like Cecelia is on the mend. I have had a much worse case and am not through it yet. I talked to my OB and he said that all I can do is let it run it's course. He told me a couple things I can do to ease the symptoms but what I can take is very limited because I am pregnant. On a good note, he said it should not affect the baby.

I was able to go to FL this past weekend to suprise my friend Dana. She was having her first baby shower so with the help of Heather and Hilary, and their planning, I was able to fly in. Dana was completely shocked. We both cried. Of course what do you expect when you put two pregnant women in one room!! I got a huge suprise while I was there. My friends threw me a suprise baby shower! I couldn't believe it. It waws wonderful. I am so lucky to have such good friends in Florida. I started to get sick while I was in Florida. When I got home I found out that Cecelia was getting sick too. This means we were both exposed to the virus before I left.

Cecelia is getting so big! She is starting to look more and more like a little girl as opposed to a baby. He vocabulary is imense! It is wonderful becuase she can tell me what she wants now. She has started playing with her dolly alot. She wraps her in a blankie and undresses her. Of course I have to put the clothes back on. She is facinated with belly buttons. She plays with hers all the time. She likes to find my "button" and stick her finger in it. She loves finding her dolly's belly button too.

Cecelia's name should be Miss Independant! She loves doing things on her own. She eats prety much on her own with a fork or spoon. She does not like anyone trying to feed her. She also tries to put on her own socks and shoes. It is so cute to watch her. She knows how it is supposed to work but she can't quite get them on yet. She also likes to put on hats. She will tell me "Hat".

All else is going well, other then the sickness. I am back in class. I love my professor this semester. She grades using rubrics and allows for redos so your grade depends on how much work you put into it. I talked with her about my due date, which is at the end of the semester and she said that no matter when I have the baby she will work with me on turning stuff in.

Andrew came over the other day and she wanted to play with his hand cuff so we let her. He put them on her wrists and she thought is was so funny. She laughed and squealed. When he took them away she got mad at him.
