A Wonderful Baby Shower!

Last Saturday, April 5th was my first baby shower. It was in Galveston. I flew home on Wednesday and came back this past Sunday. It was so good to see everyone while I was home. Thank you Lee and Cathy! The shower was fantastic. I truey appreciate all you put into it. Your firiendship is a blessing to me. My cousin Robyn and her daughter Brooke were able to fly in from Tacoma (they live near there but I can't spell the name of the town they live in). I have not seen Robyn in about 2 years so it was great to have her there.

I always love coming home even for just a few days. It makes me realize how blessed I am to have grown up a part of such a wonderful group of family and friends. It gives me faith that I am bringing a child into a caring and loving world despite what we see on the news. I recieved wonderful gifts at the shower, and not just the presents. Having so many friends and family there was the best gift of all! Below are some picture that were taken at the shower.

Mom and Dad were quite busy while I was home since it is tax season. Only a few more days to go YAY! I hope you all have your taxes done! If not, to quote my Mom "sign an extension!" My Grammy was also able to come for the shower. Mom and I took her to the doctor while I was there and Grammy was proud to tell people that there were four generations there that day. In honor of my Mom and Grammy, if we have a girl her name will be Cecelia Eileen. Cecelia is Mom's middle name, and I recently found out it is also my great aunt Rita's middle name. And of course, Eileen is Grammy's first name.

John's Mom and grandparents were there as well. Jonna (John's mom) and John's Grammy came with us to the shower. Papi (John's grandfather) went with my brothers to fly RC helicopters. From what I hear they had a blast! I was so glad that they could come down and share the day with me. In honor of John's side of the family, if we have a boy his name will be John Rogers Gibson Jr. John is a family name on his Mom's side. Rogers is a family name on his Dad's side.

Monday, I go for my next OB visit at Eglin. April 25th I go back to Sacred Heart for a check up there. The baby is very active all day! Thankfully so far at night the baby is pretty calm. I am hoping that is a sign. :o) You always hear about people reading, singing and talking to their baby before it is born to make the baby smarter. Being a Kindergarten teacher, my little one hears the alphabet every day and the sound the letters make and how to sound out words, and counting, not to mention all of the songs that I sing during the day with my class. Does this mean I will have a genious?? :o) Probably not, but I can hope right???

John is doing well. He is in classes right now so he has to study lots! He changed where he works so he is having to learn many new and interesting things. You guys know I cannot give specifics but he is really excited about his new position. Everyone keeps asking if he will be here for the birth of the baby. Yes he will. :o)

God chose the perfect time for us to get pregnant and have a baby and I thank him everyday for this blessing. John will be home the whole time, I will be able to finish out the school year and then have about a month and a half before the baby comes. I will not be returning to work next school year. I am going to start a new phase of being a mommy. I will continue my graudate classes so that when I do go back to work I can get a job as a school media specialist in a elementary school or a children librarian at a public library.

OK, I know that was a long update but I just had so much to tell this time! Lots of great things are happening!!
