Cecelia blew me away the other day. As I have said before she LOVES books! We read to her more times than I can count everyday becuase she is always bringing us book to read to her. One of her favorite books is a Sesame Street Alphabet book. She loves to point to the letters when I point and say them. She likes to say the letter after I say it. A while back I bought her Sesame Street letter cards but I had not given them to her yet because I thought she wasn't ready for them. The other day she brought them too me from her book shelf. I thought I would go ahead and give them to her for the exposure. She wanted me to tell her the letters so we went through the deck twice. She loved it. She would say the letters after I said them, smile and clap. After we did them twice, I gave her the deck to play with. To my suprise and astonishment, she would hand me a card and tell me the letter on it, without me saying the letter!!!!! She knew almost all of the letters. I almost fell out of my chair. The cards were not in order so that let me know she actually does know the letters. She has told me the letters everyday since then. She thinks it is a game. She drops the deck on the floor then picks them up to hand them to me one at a time while telling me the letters. She beams with pride! I never thought at her age she would know her letters but when I think about it most of her favorite books are alphabet books, and one of her favorite shows is wheel of fortune. She will sit down and watch the whole show. When the contestants say the letters she echos them and them Vanna turns the letter around. It is instant say it, see it. She absorbs everything!
One of her other favorite books is a nursery rhyme board book that has Baa, Baa Black Sheep. She has been able to say Baa, Baa for a while but recently she will sit down to read the book to herself and she will actually say Baa, Baa, Black Sheep. She talks so much now! Her vocabulary is amazing!
Cecelia loves her baby dolls. She wraps them in their blankies and feds them their bottles, and carries them around so carefully. It is precious. I am hoping this is a sign that she will be a good big sister. Now that my belliy is really sticking out she loves to come up and kiss my tummy. When I ask her where is our baby she gently rubs my tummy. I had to teach her to be gentle with my tummy becuase she loves to jump into my lap and crawl all over me. She has been much better about being gentle.
On the pregnancy front, I had to be on bed rest for 2 weeks. I was feeling a lot of preassure down low. To be on the safe side I had to stay off me feel and lay down. It was not fun. It took a few days for Cecelia to understand mommy could not pick her up. I am so thankful for my mom. She had to take off work 2 weeks to stay with me. I felt really bad becuase this is their busy time of year. The doctor released me from bed rest but told me to take it easy and limit how much I pick up Cecelia. This let mom go back to work and it let me move around. I was stir crazy having to lay around.
The baby is doing good. She is very active. This past week they put me on the monitor at the doctors office. It is the same kind they use in the hospital to monitor the baby's heart beat and monitor to see if I am having contractions. The baby's heart beat was good. She kept kicking where the monitor was. I was not having any contractions. I think they are going to put me on the monitor each time I go from now on. I have to go every week now.
This past Wednesday, Mom, Dad, Aaron, Joslin, Joslin's mom Rhonda, Cecelia and I went to the rodeo to see Rascal Flatts. It was Salute the Troops day. There were so many men and women in uniform and even more people who were very proud of the troops and made sure to tell them. They actually had buses from Fort Hood to get the soldiers there. At a time when it seems like the troops are forgotten, this was a great day! It made me very proud to be an American. The coolest part was right before Rascal Flatts performed, a group of Air Force Special Tactics guys repelled from the top of Relaiant Stadium with the flag. It was SO COOL!
I had a difficult time walking at the rodeo. The baby decided that morning to lay on my nerve and has decided to camp out there. When I walk I get a shooting pain in my upper leg. Not fun! We got their early so we were able to take it easy and sit down to rest a lot. They even let me take the elevator up to the level where our seats were so I didn't have to take the ramp. We were in the top level so it was a long walk up the ramps. I was glad to be able to take the elevator.
Cecelia loved the rodeo! She like seeing the cows and horses and would point and clap. She LOVED Rascal Flatts. She clapped and danced. I think I had the most fun watching her. She was so good the whole time! Below is the picture I took of her in her Aggie overalls right before we left. She loves her overalls! The face she is making is her new picture face. When I tell her to smile so Mommy can take a picture that is the face I get. It is so cute!
